PPL Foundation

The PPL Foundation helps to provide a margin of excellence for the Pittsylvania County Public Library System in order to offer enhanced programs and services to our community. Established as a 501(c)3 corporation in 1983, the primary purpose of the Foundation is to engage in charitable and educational fundraising activities and distribute such funds to the Library. Members of the Foundation board are elected by members of the Pittsylvania County Public Library Board of Trustees.

One of the most recent gifts of the Foundation to the library system will help underwrite, in conjunction with the Womack Foundation, the “Books for Babies” program. This new initiative will help connect babies and their parents with books, teaching the importance of reading to infants in the establishment of lifelong literacy.

The Foundation encourages gifts in support of the library’s services and programs. Make checks payable to PPL Foundation, PO Box 814, Chatham VA 24531. You may also donate when you file your Virginia state income taxes through a check-off box on the form.
